May the Fourth Be With You

Yep…I will admit it, I am a Star Wars fan.  I remember playing Star Wars as a kid, seeing the Return of the Jedi in the theater, ( we apparently had movie parties at our house when the first two were on HBO since we were the only ones in the neighborhood who had it) and having elaborate light saber fights with nothing more than a stick and our sound effects.  Boy, being a kid was great!

And then there is the hubby.  HUGE Star Wars fan.  We no longer will play Star Wars Trivial Pursuit with him because he knows all the little know/obscure facts about every character, even those I didn’t realize even HAD names!

Such as:

R2D2 was named after a piece of film editor’s jargon meaning Reel 2, Dialogue 2.

The Millennium Falcon’s shape was inspired by a hamburger with an olive on the side
Al Pacino, Christopher Walken and Kurt Russell were considered for the part of Han Solo
Every Star Wars movie has been released in May – a week after George Lucas’s birthday
There were eight RD-D2 units made for A New Hope, but only two could be occupied by Kenny Baker
Billy Dee Williams also auditioned for the role of Han Solo
AT-AT stands for All Terrain Armored Transport

So in honor of my childhood memories and my awesome hubby…
